At American Express, we are committed to supporting relief efforts in the communities devastated by Hurricane Katrina. We recently announced a donation of a minimum of $1 million to the American Red Cross to assist in their support of the affected areas through direct support from the American Express Foundation and employee contribution matching. Local and national aid organizations are mobilizing to assist the many people who are coping with the terrible aftermath of the disaster, and we want to maximize the support given to these organizations.
